Every year, a countless number of animals are forced to suffer or are killed for selfish human purposes: animal testing. However, as this provides us the security of knowing our products are safe, the majority of people don't bother to question this process; at least not enough to stop it from happening. Pets are such a big part of our society, and yet because the issue isn't concerning them specifically, people turn a blind eye. Dogs, rodents, rabbits, and other animals spend their lives in cages, the subjects of cruel, harmful testing. Humans hold all the power in this world, but often abuse their power. With all our technology, you would think we could come up with a way to test products without causing harm to living creatures, but unfortunately, not many people see this as a pressing issue.

AGREED! I wish people would force this practice out of existence, too. My love and appreciation of animals is the driving energy behind my decision to become a pescetarian. (I am trying to go that added step past that, but am having troubles...) (Suggestions: In you post, link us to places that provide some of these stories, or to sites that provide evidence for this practice being unnecessary, etc.)
